Tour of the Hocking River - Sat. May 17th, 2014  

Start Location - Tallmadge Elementary School, 611 Lewis Ave. Lancaster Ohio.  

Start Time       - 7:30 to 9:00 AM


There are 33, 49, 51, 78, 79, 98, and 99 mile courses.  The route heads to Bremen and then follows the eastern branch of the Hocking River.   The 33 mile course follows the Hocking river the rest of the way back to Lancaster.  All other courses follow two tributaries as you head to Logan.   From there, the 78 mile and longer routes go into the Hocking Hills.  For the Tour of the Hocking River, we strove for the flattest course we could find for course sections between Lancaster and Logan.    For all rides 49 miles and longer, you can choose either a hilly or flat route for the last 9 miles.  The 33, 49, and 51 mile courses have one food stop.  The 78 and 79 mile courses have two food stops and the 98 and 99 mile courses have 3 food stops. Terrain is flat to hilly.  The 99 mile route has 6700 ft. of climbing while the 98 course has 6300 ft.  These courses will stop at Hocking Hills Ash Cave and you will ride by Cedar Falls and Conkles Hollow.  The 79 mile course has 5000 ft. of climbing and the 78 mile course has 4600 ft.  The 51 mile course has 2800 ft. of climbing and the 49 mile course has 2400 ft.  The 33 mile course has 1500 ft. of climbing with one steep hill at about mile 5 where you will probably have to walk.  Helmets are required to be worn by all riders.

If you pre-register by May 14th,  the cost is $35.  If you pre-register between May15th and May 16th, the cost is $40.  Day of ride registration is $50.
